Tesla (TSLA) has begun the wide release of its latest over-the-air (OTA) update version 2025.2.8. Currently, many Tesla owners on HW3/AI3 and AI4 vehicles are getting upgraded to this new point release of the 2025 branch.
OTA update 2025.2 was the first version Tesla rolled out on the 2025 branch towards the end of January. The majority of Tesla owners and FSD beta testers are still on some version of the 2024 branch.
The latest point release firmware version 2025.2.8 includes a couple of new features and some minor security and infotainment updates (see Release Notes below).

According to Tesla firmware tracking data on TeslaFi.com, the automaker is quickly moving both AI3 and AI4 vehicles to the new 2025.2.8 update.
As of this writing, out of 16,804 data-contributing vehicles on the platform, around 1,400 cars have installed this update and more than 300 are pending installation.
Because this update contains bug and security patches, it’s recommended to update your Tesla vehicle to this latest version asap.
Tesla FSD v12.6.4 (for AI3 vehicles) and FSD v13.2.8 (for AI4 vehicless) both have the firmware update version 2025.2.8 which contains the following features.
Tesla Update 2025.2.8 Official Release Notes
Third-Party Fast Charger Preconditioning
Prior to the 2025.2 software update, Tesla owners were able to precondition their vehicle’s battery before reaching a Tesla Supercharger or a listed third-party charging location.
With this new OTA update, Tesla owners can now use battery preconditioning for unlisted DC fast charging locations as well.
Your vehicle now supports preconditioning for additional third-party fast chargers, even if they aren’t listed on the charger list.
Simply set a fast charger as your destination, and battery preconditioning will start automatically when needed to optimize charging performance.

Rear Cross-Traffic Chime
When you shift into Reverse, a warning sound will play from the direction of an incoming object detected crossing behind you, such as a vehicle or pedestrian.
Go to Controls > Safety > Rear Cross-Traffic Chime.
