Tesla (TSLA) launched the coming of the new 2025 Model Y Juniper for North America today. It was launched in China and some other regions earlier this month.
Potential Model Y customers were holding their orders because of a potential launch of the new Model Y design refresh. This created a slump in Model Y sales in North America throughout last year. The automaker made the right decision to put the new model on sale in Q1 2025.
“Redesigned from end to end for maximum efficiency and comfort,” Tesla wrote in the announcement email sent out earlier today. And this is a true statement when it comes to Model Y Juniper refresh — everyone was expecting a design similarity to the Model 3 Highland.
Get the complete list of new features and improvements below.

The new Model Y Juniper is not just a redesigned vehicle from outside, the US-based EV automaker also made significant improvements in efficiency, aerodynamics, range, autonomous capabilities, technology, comfort, new paint options, and more.
Although Tesla announced the coming of the new Model Y today, the automaker is still showing the legacy vehicle as the default option in its online vehicle configurator. A notice shows on top of the screen that says “Inventory Model Y Available Now Explore Reduced Pricing – View Inventory“.
Tesla is offering reduced pricing for the legacy Model Y which is not that much legacy at all if you ask me. It has the new Hardware 4 (HW4) computer that’s capable of running the latest FSD (Supervised) software including other features.

Tesla Model Y Juniper Launch Series Price
Tesla has placed the new Model Y Juniper refresh under a new tab that says “Launch Series”. Tesla has set the price for the Launch Series Model Y Juniper at $59,990 in the United States (excluding EV tax credit and other benefits).
In Canada, Tesla is offering the Launch Series AWD Model Y for CA$84,990. This price is comparable to the US pricing if we consider the current exchange rate. This price might look a bit on the higher side for Canadians but the Launch and Founders Series Tesla vehicles are always much expensive.
If you can wait for the Launch Series to end, you will be able to get the new Model Y Juniper at a considerably low price. However, this might take months or even a couple of quarters when Tesla offers the base variant and non-Launch Series models.
The Launch Series Model Y is the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant. Tesla hasn’t offered the base RWD variant for the 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper in North America yet.
