Tesla (TSLA) has ended all speculation and suspense surrounding the next iteration of its Model Y electric SUV. The US-based automaker launched the new Model Y Juniper in select markets.
In the first phase of its launch, the 2025 Tesla Model Y Juniper is now available to order in China, Asia Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand.
The design-refreshed Model Y codenamed Juniper has significantly different looks compared to the previous generation which is still on sale in North America and Europe.
Tesla has updated its online Model Y car configurator in countries where the vehicle is now available for sale. The start of delivery time varies between April and May depending on shipment time.

Model Y Juniper Exterior Design
Tesla’s latest generation, the Model Y EV SUV, has a different design language from that of the previous generation. Model Y Juniper’s exterior design tilts more towards the recently unveiled Cybercab robotaxi rather than the current Model 3 Highland.
The sharp and slim front headlights and the horizontal light strip across the front was first introduced in the Cybertruck. It looks like Tesla is going to implement this design language across all of its future car models from now on (Model S and X redesign is due for a long time now).
The rear end of the new Model Y now has a red light strip that joins both tail lights. The tail lights of the new Model Y Juniper are similar to the new Model 3. Both vehicles now share less exterior parts than they used to with the previous generation like front and rear lights, etc.
Colors
Tesla has introduced a new color Glacier Blue for the Model Y Juniper refresh. This new paint option is included with in the vehicle price in some markets and in others it’s categorized as a premium option for a price.
Here’s the Tesla Model Y Juniper colors list:
- Pearl White Multi-Coat
- Glacier Blue
- Stealth Grey
- Quicksilver
- Ultra Red
Wheels
In Australia and New Zealand, Tesla has launched the new Model Y Juniper with only 20-inch wheels. The two screenshots of the vehicle above show the car in Glacier Blue color and the 20’’ Helix 2.0 Wheels. These wheels of the new Model Y resemble the 19″ Nova Wheels of the Tesla Model 3.
In some markets such as Asia Pacific, Tesla is offering the 19″ Crossflow Wheels (for better aerodynamics and efficiency). However, in this region, the automaker is charging extra for the 20’’ Helix 2.0 Wheels. In Australia & New Zealand, the 20″ wheels are included in the price of the vehicle as the aero wheels are not offered in these countries.
Interior of the Model Y Juniper
Tesla also gave a fresh look and a subtle redesign to the interior of the new Model Y Juniper refresh. Looking at it closely, I think the seats are the same as the old model but the center console, armrests, and steering wheel are redesigned.
The new steering wheel of the 2025 Model Y matches to the one Tesla introduced in the new Model 3 Highland.
Tesla Model Y Juniper has an 8″ infotainment screen for the rear passengers like the new Model 3 Highland.
Tesla is offering two interior trim options — the included ‘All Black’ and the premium ‘Black and White’ as optional.
