Tesla (TSLA) has rolled out another point release over-the-air (OTA) software update that brings new improvements to the Actually Smart Summon (ASS) feature.
The Tesa ASS feature gets new tweaks in the FSD v12.5.4.1 update with firmware version 2024.32.10. The tech automaker rolled out the previous FSD v12.5.4 update just last week that also enabled ASS on HW3 cars.
The new FSD v12.5.4.1 update is seen on both the HW4 and HW3 cars as the automaker started the rollout yesterday evening. Tesla listed the improvements in the OTA update’s release notes (below).
In addition to the tweaks to the ASS feature, Tesla also improved the linear Dumb Summon functionality in 2024.32.10. In the Full Self-Driving (FSD) v12.5.4.1 update, Tesla mostly focused on how the vehicle aborts Actually Smart Summon during use according to different scenarios and obstructions.
Tesla owner @BLKMDL3 on X (Twitter) was one of the first ones to get the FSD v12.5.4.1 update. In his X post, he noted his first impressions of the ASS improvements as follows:
ASS seems similar as before, but I need to test it during the day where there’s busier lots- did well in my initial testing at the grocery store. Noticed when it aborts the braking is less jolty and a bit smoother.
According to TeslaFi.com software tracking stats, only 76 Tesla owners received the FSD v12.5.4.1 (2024.32.10) update as of this writing. This cannot be considered a wide release yet. Tesla is most probably gathering data on new ASS improvements before making it a wide release.
The FSD v12.5.4.1 update is behind the new Cybertruck 12.5.5 update which brings End-to-End on Highway. Tesla vehicles other than the Cybertruck do not have the End-to-End on Highway stack released to them yet.
Official Release Notes: FSD Supervised v12.5.4.1 (2024.32.10)
ASS (Actually Smart Summon)
Buckle up for the ride of your life, except, surprise! You’re not in the car. ASS (Actually Smart Summon) allows your vehicle to come to you, or head to a spot that you choose, all on its own. It’s like magic, but with more tech and less wand-waving.
Additionally, Dumb Summon allows you to move your Tesla forward or back with simple controls directly in your mobile app.
To use, open your Tesla app, hit the Summon tab, and get a live feed from your car’s cameras to guide your supervision.
- COME TO ME: Press and hold to have your Tesla come to you.
- GO TO TARGET: Set where you want your Tesla to go, then press and hold to send it on its merry way.
You can halt your journey anytime by just letting go of the button. See your Owner’s Manual for additional details.
ASS and Dumb Summon should only be used in parking lots or driveways. Keep an eye on your car and its surroundings at all times. Stay vigilant, especially around the fast and the furious (people, bikes, and other cars). You are still responsible for your vehicle, so watch as it drives and stop it if necessary.
Note: ASS requires the Tesla mobile app version 4.37.0 or later.
Now Includes:
- Improved Public//High-Speed Road Aborts
- Improved Blocked Camera Aborts
- Reduced False Positive Collision Mitigation Aborts
- Refined Dumb Summon
- Added Custom/Fart Completion Sounds
Coming Soon:
- HomeLink and myQ garage integration
- Usage without continuous press.
