Tesla (TSLA) launched the Quicksilver color for Model 3 in North America earlier this month. Before the US, Tesla launched this color in Europe last month.
The electric automaker released a few photos of the Tesla Model 3 in Quicksilver color on X (Twitter) but no pics or videos were available in a real-life environment. Tesla Model Y has been available in Quicksilver for a couple of years now, so its in-person photos already received praise in the past.
The first Quicksilver Model 3 Performance is now on display at the Century City, Los Angeles Tesla showroom (pics and walkaround video below).
There has been a lot of hype around the Tesla Model 3 Highland (new design-refresh face uplift model) in Quicksilver paint. According to the people who have looked at the new Model 3 in Quicksilver in person, the photos don’t do justice to it.
Both Zack and Dennis who posted pics and videos of the Quicksilver Model 3 from the LA showroom say that you need to see it in person to get the real feel of the color. Tesla YouTuber DennisCW says that the Quicksilver paint gives the Tesla Model 3 a “luxurious look”.
During the walkthrough, Dennis and his wife also noticed that the Quicksilver paint had a purplish metallic sheen to it. The couple also noted that the color gives different shades when light reflects at different angles.
Tesla has put a Model 3 Performance (top-end variant) on display at this showroom in Los Angeles, California. This showroom display car has the black interior and 20″ Warp wheels that are standard on a Performance variant.
At the time of writing, there have been no reports of the Quicksilver Model 3 on display at another Tesla showroom in the US or Canada.
Interestingly, Tesla has put the same Model 3 Performance in Quicksilver paint for immediate delivery if anyone orders the vehicle from the inventory. The automaker has set the price of this inventory car at $56,990.
Tesla is charging $1,000 extra for the immediate delivery. However, this inventory Quicksilver Model 3 Performance is available for shipping in California only. When I inserted a Texas zip code in the configurator, the delivery was not available and with a California zip code, the immediate delivery is available. You can check this vehicle at the automaker’s official inventory website until the vehicle is sold.
For regular orders, Tesla is showing an estimated delivery timeline of Aug – Sept for the Model 3 in Quicksilver.
Tesla’s Fremont factory is the EV automaker’s only US plant that produces Model 3 cars right now. The introduction of the Quicksilver color means the paint shop at Tesla Fremont has been upgraded after Giga Texas when Model Y Quicksilver was launched earlier this year.
