Tesla CEO Elon Musk listened to customer feedback on Twitter and responded fast to resolve their problem once again. A Tesla owner from Germany complained that the Tesla Mobile Connector which was previously included in the price of the car is no more included with the car purchase. Tesla started selling it for an additional $400.
This change is not limited to Germany or Europe, the Tesla Mobile Connector from now on is not included in the price of the car globally. Buying this basic charging adapter for an additional $400 was an extra burden on Tesla customers.
This change by Tesla was not widely welcome by Tesla owners and potential customers on Twitter. Several Tesla enthusiasts and influencers retweeted this to show their concern and get the matter to Elon Musk’s attention.
These efforts did not go in vain as Elon Musk took notice of the situation, “Usage statistics were super low, so seemed wasteful. On the (minor) plus side, we will be including more plug adapters with the mobile connector kit,” he responded.
Looking at the overwhelming response from Tesla owners and potential customers on this matter, Elon Musk posted another tweet after about 9 hours of the above one. He said:
Based on feedback received, we will drop mobile connector price to $200 & make it easy to order with car.
Note, mobile connector is not needed if you have a Tesla wall connector or to use Superchargers.
Recommend installing Tesla wall connector well before car arrives.

Currently, this connector is “out of stock” — perhaps Tesla has stopped the sale temporarily to change the price and add more plug adapters as Musk has mentioned above.
Which other CEO of a trillion or billion-dollar company connects with his customers like Elon Musk? I am pretty sure another one would be very hard to find. Musk just doesn’t listen to customers, he also makes an effort to resolve the issue, and this is not the first time he has done this — this is top-notch customer service in almost real-time.
